The Little Traveller crashed on a friend’s couch this weekend in Kensington, in the suburbs of Sydney to visit an old friend.
So this weekend I went to visit my old housemate who is studying acting at NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Arts) to see his final year show titled Cloud 9. Its written by Caryl Churchill and directed by an up and coming director in Australia known as Kip Williams.
It was truly an amazing piece of theatre. The comedy and wit of the writing, paired with the transparency and openness of the modern set was truly wonderful to watch as the cast continued to transform through out the show.
As it was pouring down rain all weekend we were forced to stay indoors unfortunately. We decided that going to see the movie World War Z was a far better option then looking like wet dogs out in the cold. Funnily enough, it turned out to be a great movie! I recommend it to all zombiepocalypse movie lovers. This movie has a bit of everything – scary moments, a few mushy moments and a great ending.
On Sunday night we ended up at the Shakespeare Hotel in Surry Hills. We had the best $12 ribs you could ever buy! An awesome little pub to hang out and have a drink as well. If that wasn’t enough we then got ice-cream from Messina’s. If your ever in Sydney, make sure you stop here and pick up a tub. You won’t regret it.
Now I’m back in Melbourne where it’s so foggy you can’t even see the tarmac. Bring on summer!
